Role overview
McGraw Hill is seeking a visionary Vice President of International Product to lead our global Higher Education product strategy and drive product-market-fit across international markets. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of education technology on a global scale, building a world-class product organization that serves diverse markets, cultures, and educational systems.
As a member of the Higher Education Product Leadership Team, you'll report directly to our Chief Product Officer and have a powerful voice in defining how McGraw Hill innovates and competes globally. This role combines strategic product leadership, cross-functional team management, and organizational culture-building into a single high-impact position.
What you’ll do
- Own International Product Strategy: Develop and maintain compelling regional product strategies that achieve product-market-fit across geographies. You'll evaluate and optimize multiple variables—content, platform capabilities, commercialization models, and revenue strategies—to ensure viability and growth.
- Lead and Develop International Product Teams: Manage product team members globally. You'll build a connected, empowered team that embodies McGraw Hill's culture while maintaining a global perspective. This includes fostering collaboration, mentorship, and professional development across distributed teams.
- Shape the Product Roadmap: Influence our global product roadmap through compelling business cases, persuasive ROI analysis, and attractive revenue opportunities. You'll advocate for regional priorities while understanding how they fit into our broader product vision.
- Drive Localization Excellence: Establish and lead a cross-functional Center of Excellence responsible for defining world-class localization practices. From content adaptation to platform customization to go-to-market strategies, you'll drive competitive advantage and speed-to-market across all regions.
- Manage Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and manage partnerships with organizations that support or deliver aspects of our core product experiences in international markets. You'll identify, negotiate, and oversee relationships that expand our reach and capabilities.
- Foster a Global Product Mindset: As a member of the leadership team, you'll help instill a global perspective and culture across the entire product organization. You'll champion regional insights and drive the company's thinking on international education trends.
What we’re looking for
- 10 years+ of building educational products globally
- 8+ years of operational experience leading cross-functional teams, with P&L ownership responsibility
- EdTech experience (building content and platforms)
- Recognized expertise in product localization practices—you know what true localization means and how to build processes that scale
- Strong financial modeling and business case development skills
- Demonstrated experience working directly with C-suite and board-level stakeholders
- AI fluency: You understand how to evaluate the impact and cost of AI systems and make informed decisions about AI implementation
- A track record of driving organizational change and making things happen in complex environments
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to travel globally – about 50% of the time
