Job Description

Role overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Financial Operations team. The role is central to our month-end reporting and key accounting processes, with a focus on revenue, cost of sales, and stock. It will provide exposure to IFRS, performance analysis, operational process flows, and controls befitting a PLC environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfil month-end deliverables in line with the month-end timetable, with a focus on revenue & stock postings and reporting
  • Assist the Financial Controller with the development of an effective controls framework for their respective areas of responsibility
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations which adhere to the controls framework
  • Provide insight into the monthly numbers with commentary and analysis
  • Initiate process improvements to drive value where possible
  • Support the external audit process
  • Stock reconciliation
  • Stock provisions and additions

Qualifications

  • Exam qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT) preferred
  • Experience of working as a management accountant in a large or compliance finance function
  • Ability to deal with complex accounting and make improvements to month-end processes

Interpersonal & Management skills

  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to present financial information in a manner that can be understood by all recipients
  • Fast and accurate, attention to detail
  • Proactive and motivated, able to show initiative and work independently
  • Strong technical, analytical, and judgement skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work across a divisional matrix structure
  • Problem solver with a track record of undertaking and delivering projects

Technical Skills / Experience

  • MS Excel (Strong)
  • Financial systems (Access Dimensions preferred)
  • Focal Point (preferred)
  • Biblio (preferred)

Additional information

The role is a full-time and permanent position. The role is based at our London office, 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP, on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based. Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday.
