Job Description

Role overview

We’re looking for a passionate and knowledgeable salesperson to join Bonnier Books UK Sales team. If you have a deep love of books, a solid understanding of the publishing world, and a talent for connecting with people, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you’ll build relationships with booksellers, promote a range of titles across our adult and children’s, fiction, and non-fiction lists, and ultimately, put our books into the hands of as many booksellers and readers as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and nurture relationships with a variety of independent bookshops and businesses, visiting them on a regular basis to present our titles.
  • Day-to-day account management, dealing with a variety of requests from our customers in a timely manner.
  • Support our publicity department in arranging and the management of local bookseller events and author tours.
  • Liaise with internal departments (e.g., marketing, operations, distributors) to assist in the effective day-to-day running of the field sales operation.
  • Look for new sales opportunities and ways in which we can expand our business.

Requirements

  • A clean driving license is essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Established sales and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a pressurised environment.
  • A passion for books and ability to identify the current trends in the industry.
  • An understanding of the UK book market.
  • Proven experience in sales within a bookselling environment.
