Faber is a leading independent publisher, committed to publishing the world’s most significant voices. The current list spans Nobel laureates, bestselling literary fiction, award-winning non-fiction, poetry, film, classical music and drama alongside an unrivalled backlist. Faber is also a supplier of sales and distribution services to independent publishers and has a market-leading creative writing school.

We are looking to recruit a Publicity Assistant to join our Publicity team, providing administrative support to the publicists working across Faber’s adult lists and ensuring the smooth running of the department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for books who is keen to start a career in Publicity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the team’s day-to-day admin tasks
  • Compile campaign round-ups
  • Make travel bookings
  • Handle email enquiries
  • Coordinate review mailings
  • Help to arrange schedules
  • Accompany authors to interviews
  • Regularly attend evening events
  • Support with the organisation of company events and launches

Requirements

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible and prioritise responsibilities in a busy environment
  • Interest in how communications can influence the success of a book
  • Curiosity about connecting books to readers
  • Enjoy building relationships
  • Thrive in a team environment
  • Previous relevant office administration experience would be an advantage
  • Willingness to work evenings and occasionally at weekends is essential

This is an entry-level position.

Reporting to the Deputy Publicity Director, the role offers a great opportunity to gain knowledge from publicists working across a broad range of titles and genres.

Logistics

  • This is a full-time, permanent position.
  • Based in our central London office.
  • We accommodate hybrid working but the role requires a minimum of three days a week in the office.
