Role overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate interested in a career in trade print production. Bloomsbury publishes a prestigious award-winning list of literary fiction and non-fiction titles including such authors as Samantha Shannon, Gillian Anderson, Alex Aster, Grace Blakely and Alan Moore. We are looking for a highly motivated hard-working individual with a particular interest in print production to join our busy Adult Production team.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Mono Production Manager, key tasks will include costing and processing reprints, handling backlist e-book creation, some POD and providing administrative support to the team.
- Evaluating costs for Sales, Rights and Special Sales as requested.
- Scheduling within Biblio to meet key dates, updating schedules/statuses and flagging any delivery issues to Sales Operations.
- Negotiating print buying outside company scales and completing supplier tenders prior to raising Print POs.
- Managing print production from briefing (text and covers) through file checking to warehouse delivery, resolving issues as needed.
- Raising Purchase Orders, processing invoices and maintaining accurate records within Biblio.
- Managing ePub workflows, backlist updates, QA processes and final digital file delivery to CP.
- Sourcing, costing and creating POD files, and ensuring all IP is archived in CollectionPoint.
- Monitoring spend against budget, completing variances and following departmental workflows.
- Providing general administrative support to the Adult Trade team.
Qualifications
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Proven IT skills (knowledge of Word and Excel essential).
- A keen eye for detail.
- Completed a publishing course which included an element of print production training.
- Some production experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: £27,000 per annum.
- Working Pattern: Hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are Mondays and Tuesdays.
- Holidays: 25 days holiday, 3.5 days Christmas company holiday.
