Role overview
An opportunity to join the Sales Team of a top 5 UK Publisher at a time of dynamic investment and growth. We are looking to recruit an Online Sales Assistant with good organisational skills to work in our fast-paced online sales team. Reporting to the Senior Account Manager, eBooks, this position will play a key role to support the wider online team who are managing and growing all our accounts and assisting on the day-to-day administration and operations for the team.
This role involves compiling data for analysis (weekly account updates and other sales reports) and being the first point of contact for general internal queries about our online accounts, both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will have initiative, a natural curiosity, enthusiasm, be data-driven, good at multi-tasking, and possess a love of spreadsheets, ready to join a highly motivated and dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Compile and prepare weekly sales reports for Amazon
- Manage internal and Amazon agendas and minutes
- Maintain sales traces and compile data for internal reports
- Manage compliance checks process
- Assist with online accounts administration (including Infringement claims, author approvals, etc.)
- Process Amazon retro claims
- Create and circulate monthly promotion update emails to divisional specialists
- Prepare digital customer presentations
- Assist with digital accounts administration
- Support Senior Account Managers and Divisional Specialists across online and digital
- Keep records of sales data and compile data for regular internal reports, including weekly sales across all formats
- Maintain digital sales trackers and conduct regular audits for accuracy
- Managed availability checks on key retailers
- Supply ad hoc sales figures requests
- Provide support for general sales admin and ad hoc business analysis
Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail
- Organised and able to prioritise tasks
- Strong numerical skills
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient with systems such as Biblio, Nielsen, Cognos, and PowerBI

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: £27,000 pa
- This is a full-time and permanent position.
- The role is based at our London office, 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP.
- Hybrid-working pattern: 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).
- Allocated office days for this role are: Monday/Tuesday.
- This position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme, offering an interest-free rental deposit up to £3,000, paid back over 2 years.
- Working Pattern: Hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).
- Holidays: 25 days holiday, plus 3.5 days Christmas company holiday.
