Role overview
This role provides essential support to the NBNi MK Warehouse team, working under the supervision of the Team Leader. You will be responsible for picking, packaging, and dispatching customer orders, ensuring high levels of quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Pick customer orders with a focus on quality and productivity.
- Package and dispatch books.
- Operate and maintain forklift equipment.
- Supervise the unloading and loading of containers and trailers.
- Assist with goods inwards and outwards procedures.
- Ship goods outwards, ensuring correct labeling and addressing.
- Maintain a clean and orderly distribution area, including goods inwards, loading bay, and yard.
- Assist in Quality Control processes.
- Help remove waste materials from the site.
- Participate in regular stock takes as required.
- Adhere to set procedures and quality controls.
- Monitor and report necessary supply replenishments.
- Ensure personal Health and Safety and be aware of factors affecting colleagues to maintain a safe environment.
- Immediately report any accidents or potential hazards to your Line Manager.
- Perform other duties as reasonably requested by the management team.
Requirements
- 6 months of experience in a warehouse environment.
- GCSEs or equivalent.
- Ability to operate a personal computer effectively.
- Reading comprehension.
- Writing skills.
- Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely and adhere to safety guidelines in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a group environment.
- Flexibility and ability to multi-task based on workflow demands.
- Ability to meet and maintain production standards.
- Reasonably reliable attendance.
- Hold a valid counter-balance forklift truck license.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk and stand continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 20 kilos in full range of motion during the assigned shift.
- Ability to push/pull up to 20 kilos in a manufacturing environment during the assigned shift.
- Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to bend, kneel/squat, twist/turn, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift.
- Ability to work designated shifts, including overtime as required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which could include nights and weekends.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Exposure to a wide range of temperatures.
