Role overview
Bloomsbury’s award-winning audio team is looking for a new Audio Editor, passionate about the audio format, to help support the next phase of their growth. You will be responsible for the production of a wide selection of audiobook titles from Bloomsbury’s Academic and Professional lists, with the opportunity to work broadly across their program of publishing. You’ll have an eye for detail, ensuring your titles keep to budget and publish on time, without compromising on quality and creativity. Please note this is not a technical, sound design, or studio-based role.
The Audio Editor will be responsible for the editorial delivery of audiobook titles across Bloomsbury’s Academic and Professional lists. This includes casting, liaising with authors and agents, and working closely with internal teams to ensure high-quality productions are delivered on time and within budget. Great at building relationships both internally and externally, you’ll be confident in negotiating with agents, attending studios, and building a rapport with colleagues across the business. As part of a collaborative editorial team, you will contribute to the success of the wider audio list and uphold Bloomsbury’s creative standards in audio publishing.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
- A creative and passionate audio professional with strong editorial judgment and an understanding of audiobook production
- Confident managing multiple projects

- Ability to contribute to a collaborative publishing environment

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: £30,500 - £35,800 depending on skills and experience
- Working Pattern: Hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred)
- Allocated office days for this role are: Tuesday and Thursday
- Holidays: 25 days holiday, 3.5 days Christmas company holiday
