Job Description

Role overview

We are looking for a motivated Associate Publisher to manage a portfolio of Humanities or Social Sciences journals. You will develop excellent working relationships with external journal editors, reviewing performance and ensuring alignment on strategic goals. You will plan and execute recruitment for editorial teams, making structural changes as required. As part of a global team, you will work collaboratively with skilled colleagues across Wiley’s research business on day-to-day portfolio management as well as broader initiatives with a focus on identifying opportunities for journal development and strategic growth.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Develop productive working relationships with external editors and editorial boards to build and maintain the journals’ reputation and quality while improving operations for continued success
  • Evaluate performance and support journal development to best serve research communities
  • Manage recruitment for editorial teams
  • Plan and oversee strategic content commissioning to support healthy journal growth
  • Represent Wiley in the subject community through outreach (virtual and in-person) and thought leadership

We Are Looking For People Who Have

  • Excellent organizational skills combined with effective time management and ability to prioritize
  • Relevant industry experience and journal management expertise
  • Strong relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills to ensure alignment of external editors with strategic goals
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at both operational and strategic levels
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to clearly explain complex issues in journal publishing at the conceptual level and with a grounding in journal metrics

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: 31,400 GBP to 43,800 GBP
